FOAM Bahamas Organization

Ms. Khandi Gibson

Families of All Murder Victims (F.O.A.M) is a nonprofit organization founded by Khandi Gibson in memory of her two brothers, Anthro and Khanaochi Knowles, both of whom tragically lost their lives to violence. Established on June 1st, 2012, F.O.A.M is dedicated to bridging the gap between families and young children affected by the loss of loved ones due to violence, and the law enforcement community, while raising public awareness. Our mission is to remind people that the victims of violence extend beyond those who have passed; families and loved ones are also profoundly impacted.

F.O.A.M’s primary objective is to provide a supportive, nurturing environment for grieving families, particularly children. We offer professional counseling, financial assistance, and essential services such as food, clothing, shelter, and job placement. We aim to be a source of hope and strength for those beginning the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.

Through community-based prevention and education efforts, we strive to foster healthy relationships and raise awareness of gun and domestic violence in The Bahamas. Our goal is to change the narrative—helping children and young adults understand that violence is not the solution to conflicts, and that life holds far more value than anything that can be settled through the use of a weapon.

Advocacy: Our community advocates against crime by using a survivor-centered approach. We work with survivors to help them plan for their safety, access essential services and benefits, and explore employment opportunities, all with the aim of building a brighter, safer future.

Mothers: We believe that the future of our nation lies in the hands of our mothers. By providing young mothers with the resources, support, and education they need, F.O.A.M is committed to changing the course of our country, one child at a time. Together, we can restore the core values that once defined The Bahamas—unity, love, and hope for all.
